SUPERVISION

 

 

The Monroe City School Board, through its administrators, supervisors, principals, and assistant principals, shall be committed to the task of supervision so that instructional staff members may develop their teaching abilities to the optimum degree. In order to achieve this end, all School Board employees shall be subject to the personnel evaluation process.

 

The purpose of supervision shall be to help the teacher analyze and improve teaching, to provide teachers with ready support and help on teaching problems, and to ensure that sufficient help has been provided in overcoming any teaching problems in advance of official evaluations.  The purpose of supervision shall be extended to all other School Board employees in order to support the educational process.  All Board employees shall be respected as individuals who contribute constantly to the education of children.

 

Professional ethics shall be followed by all administrators, supervisors, principals, and assistant principals as it pertains to the supervision of teachers, observations in classrooms, and the filing of supervisory reports.  Similar professional ethics shall be extended to all other Board employees to ensure that appropriate due process procedures are followed in the supervision and evaluation process.
