EMPLOYEE CONFLICT OF INTEREST

 

 

The Monroe City School Board shall require that employees not engage in any employment that would affect their usefulness as employees in the system, that would make time and/or energy demands upon the individuals which could interfere with their effectiveness in performing their contractual duties, would compromise or embarrass the school system, would adversely affect their employment status or professional standing, or would in any way conflict with or violate professional ethics.

 

Employees shall not engage in any other employment or in any private business during the hours required to fulfill assigned educational duties.

 

Members of the immediate family (spouse, mother, father, spouse’s mother, spouse’s father, sisters and brothers and their spouses, children, spouses of children) of an administrator or supervisor, are prohibited from being employed in any position where the administrator or supervisor is involved in supervision or evaluation of that position.  If such a situation occurs by promotion, and supervision or evaluation of that position cannot be performed by another administrator or supervisor, the related employee must be laterally transferred to another position where such condition does not exist.

 

No employee shall at the same time be a member of the School Board.
